On Wednesday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Lisa Howell from Silent Wings Museum talked with Tom Collins and guest host Sondra Ziegler about their upcoming "boot camp" for kids.

Silent Wings Museum will be hosting it's 4th annual Aviation Boot Camp for kids ages 8 to 12 this month. Howell says the camps will give kids a taste of what it was like to be a soldier during World War II. Kids will learn about aerodynamics, mapping, survival training, and even a bit of close quarters combat.

The Aviation Boot Camp will be held the week of July 22nd and the week of July 29th from 8 to noon every day. Registration is $50 per child per week, and all participants must be registered by July 12th for the first week, and July 19th for the second week. Howell added that the program only accepts 30 children per week, and recommended people register their kids as early as possible for the camp.
