On Monday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Representative John Frullo talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about the latest coming out of the Texas legislative session.

The second special session of the Texas legislative reconvenes today after a quick session last week. On the House side, the abortion bill HB 2 will be put on the calendar today. Frullo said HB 2 will be scheduled to be discussed tomorrow, and could be wrapped up in the House as early as tomorrow as well, provided everything goes smoothly.

"We start debate tomorrow at 10 o'clock, and it could finish up tomorrow. i don't know if that will be the case, but it actually could go through and be finished up on the House side as early as tomorrow. It may continue if there's points of order or thing like that, it could drag down the process. The Senate has to listen to it and go through their process, depending on it there's any changes to the bill."

Frullo also added that both the Texas Department of Transportation funding bill and the juvenile probation bill will also be discussed this week in appropriations.

As far as any loss of the quorum or protests, Frullo said he does not expect to see any Democrats walking out of the House and preventing the bill from being voted on. He added that both protestors and supporters of the abortion bill are still out in force, and he expects them to fill up the Capitol again as they have been doing since the discussion of the bill first started.
