CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Corpus Christi police say a 15-year-old boy faces a juvenile murder charge after his mother was found slain in her home.

Cdmr. Michael Alanis says the teen remained hospitalized Saturday for treatment of injuries sustained prior to being detained by police.

Alanis says autopsy results are pending on the 45-year-old woman. Her body was discovered Thursday after a neighbor contacted police to report a foul odor.

Investigators are trying to determine if the teen lived at the home and a possible motive for his mother's death.

Alanis had no information on the boy's injuries or condition, but said Saturday that the teen remains under police guard while hospitalized. The commander says a murder warrant was issued for the juvenile but he is not under arrest.
