When Matt Mooney came to Texas Tech as a graduate transfer from South Dakota, not a lot of people knew the type of player he was, nor how he would affect the Texas Tech men's basketball team.

In a short time, Mooney let everyone know that he was a viable part of this Texas Tech team. He has the type of attitude that just makes you want to root for the guy.

On Wednesday, he went to Twitter to thank the fans, his teammates, and everyone that helped him along the way during his time playing college basketball.

I don't know what Mooney's plans for the future are, but I solemnly believe that any NBA team that doesn't at least give him a shot after the run he had at Texas Tech will regret it for a long, long time.

Thank you, Matt Mooney, for everything you did during your short time at Texas Tech. I don't think it will ever be forgotten.
