Lubbock ISD Releases Applicant List for District 3 School Board Vacancy

Lubbock Independent School District this evening released the list of applicants to fill the vacant District 3 Board of Trustees position. The position became vacant after the resignation of Chris Comer.

The applicants are:

Mark O. Blankenship, partner, Crenshaw, Dupree & Milam Attorneys
Nettie Crawford, retired colonel, U.S. Air Force
Eddie Kirkpatrick, retired Lubbock firefighter
Robert L. Lin, president, Food Concepts International (owns and operates Abuelo’s Restaurants)
Kathleen Nichols, dentist

The Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees will consider appointing one of the applicants to fill the vacant District 3 position at their next meeting on January 26. Then in May, a special election will be held to fill the remaining two years for the District 3 term in office.
