April is National Brunch Month, and as we wrap up a few more weekends of mimosas, biscuits, and wheelbarrows of bacon, a new nationwide ranking has confirmed what Texans already know in their hearts (and stomachs): We know how to brunch!

Texas Comes in at #4!

According to a report from Hard Rock Bet, Texas comes in at #4 on the list of the Best States for Brunch in 2025, thanks largely to our beloved, delicious breakfast tacos. That’s right—move over eggs Benedict and grody smoked salmon on a bagel. Down here, we start the day the Tex-Mex way!

The study ranked all 50 states using a combination of social media, search trends, and the number of brunch spots per capita. And while California took the top spot (unsurprisingly, with their avocado toast obsession), Arizona’s breakfast burritos and New York’s bagels and lox edged their way into second and third place.

But Texas slid right in at number four, proudly waving a breakfast taco—a item that’s more than just something to eat on your way to work, it’s a way of life from Lubbock to Laredo!

Here’s how the top 5 shook out:

  1. California – Avocado Toast (61.72/100)

  2. Arizona – Breakfast Burrito (53.95/100)

  3. New York – Bagel and Lox (43.43/100)

  4. Texas – Breakfast Tacos (42.85/100)

  5. Louisiana – Beignets (40.30/100)

West Texas folks know—there’s nothing quite like grabbing a chorizo and egg taco with green sauce on a Saturday morning before heading out to the farmers market or a Tech game. Whether you're at a food truck in Austin or a family-owned diner in Lubbock, Texas brunch isn’t about being fancy… it’s about being flavorful.

So while California may have their toast and Arizona has burritos the size of a football, Texas continues to hold it down with our famous breakfast tacos!

And by the way, have you ever tried a mimosa with Tajín on the rim? Try it at your next brunch and thank me later!
