One of my favorite memories of Christmas as a kid was when my dad would load us all up into the car to drive around town and check out holiday light displays. We'd drink cocoa, listen to Jingle Bells, and "Oooh!" and "Ahhh!", especially when we came across something super impressive.

When I bought my first house, I suddenly appreciated the time people spent turning their homes into winter wonderlands. Nobody forces you to decorate and it can get expensive fast. People go out of their way and spend a ton of cash to make the season magical for anyone who passes by and for all of the little children who are patiently awaiting Santa's arrival. I think that's pretty special.
