
South Plains Food Bank Addresses Rising Demand Amid Ongoing SNAP Delays
With SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits delayed across parts of Texas, the South Plains Food Bank is seeing a sharp increase in demand for food assistance. The Lubbock-based nonprofit is working to meet the growing need while urging community members to step up with donations, volunteer hours, and support.

Food Bank Seeing Surge in Requests for Help
According to a post made by the South Plains Food Bank, nearly 58,000 people in Lubbock and the surrounding communities rely on SNAP benefits for their food needs. That is a tremendously high number of people who will soon be affected by a delay in those benefits.
Community Donations Make a Difference
To keep up with demand, the food bank is calling on the public to donate funds or time. Even small contributions can help the organization purchase bulk food and deliver meals to families who might otherwise go without.

If you are in need of food assistance, apply here. Applications are only open Monday through Thursday, 8:30a-5:00p with the office is staffed. You can sign up for food assistance, senior boxes (of you are of that age) and you can find kids feeding sites.
