El Ranchito Burrito Is NOT Closed, But We Were Worried
Yesterday, a few posts in restaurant groups sent up the alarm bells for me and several other fans of El Ranchito burrito (4529 34th). The post stated the building was for sale, using language that led many of us to believe that El Ranchito had quietly closed:
As a former long-term restaurant site, the property already possesses the essential infrastructure needed for food service, allowing a new owner to skip the intensive "ground-up" development process and move straight toward operations.
Sounds like a closed business, correct? A few of us, myself included, commented on some of these posts (it was the same post in several food groups,) wanting to know if El Ranchito was really closed, would be closing soon, etc. Luckily, it was clarified for us that the business owner will continue to make her burritos as long as she can- hopefully even under new owners.

Why A Building Sale Could Close El Ranchito Burrito
Depending on who buys the building, El Ranchito could face a bright future, or it could be forced to shut down, as it will be entirely up to the new building owner what happens there. If someone wants to use the building to open their own concept, then El Ranchito may be forced to find a new location or retire.
What We Can Do For El Ranchito Now
Go enjoy a delicious burrito while you can- and it may be that we have them for years to come. But just in case, I'm sure they could use our support now. Seriously, try the chile rellano burrito, it's a game-changer. Not feeling burritos? El Ranchito offers quesadillas, enchiladas, and even burgers, too.
