This is important information to know.

The Isleta Amphitheater in New Mexico hosts some truly amazing road shows. Truth be told, they have stolen a lot of Lubbock business. I guess that's the breaks, but it's essential that you know how to get there because, at some point, you're probably going to want to see there. Oh, they also have Tingley Colesium which has its fair share of shows as well (I saw Pearl Jam there....excellent!).

So you want to expand your concert-going experiences in New Mexico? it does sound like fun, especially because now in New Mexico no one is going to throw you in jail for enjoying your favorite refreshment (yeah, legal weed). Well, I thought I'd let you know what you're in for just in case.

The short version is five hours. Google puts Lubbock to Albuquerque in at 4 hours and 58 minutes, so let's assume you need to pull over by the side of the road for a quick whiz.  Five hours to me seems like a perfectly reasonable choice to see a show. I also think it's a better choice than Dallas, which is almost the exact equal distance from Dallas (according to Google, it's four minutes faster). My reasoning is simple, Albuquerque is not a giant clusterfluffy of traffic and other nonsense.

Now, here are some options for you. You're probably going to want to stretch your legs and double-check that gas a couple of hours in. You will probably need to stop in Muleshoe or Clovis, or if you want to go a little past the halfway point, Santa Rosa

You have one other option, if you're going to make this trip a whole "thing" you could first head direct east and make a stop to say hi to the aliens in Roswell. That will add about forty minutes to your driving time.

One last thing, if you're going to New Mexico, remember they are one hour earlier, so plan appropriately to get to your event on time. Anyways, happy traveling!
