A freeze warning is in effect Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning for the South Plains and southern Panhandle.

Yet another late spring freeze is possible Tuesday night, with temperatures likely dropping below 28 degrees in some areas. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

A hard freeze warning is also in effect for the central and northern Texas Panhandle from 9 p.m. Tuesday through 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The National Weather Service expects Wednesday’s high to be near 60 degrees, and temperatures to warm back up into the eighties by Friday.

Other than the freeze, no hazardous weather conditions are expected.
