Shots were fired at an Allsup’s in Clovis, NM, during an aggravated robbery leaving one injured.

Clovis Police were dispatched to 2600 West 7th Street at around 7:30 a.m. on December 5 where they found two armed suspects fleeing to a vehicle. While fleeing, one of the suspects discharged his firearm striking a suspect in the mouth. It is unclear if the suspect shot himself or his accomplice.

The suspects then got into their vehicle and fled north on Hondo Street before crashing a short time later near the intersection of Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Hondo Street.

When police reached the crashed car they found the injured suspect alone. Witnesses reported the second suspect notifying one of the nearby residents about his accomplice’s situation before fleeing. The second suspect remains at large.

The injured suspect was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center before being transferred to University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Police report the suspects stole more than $20 and a carton of cigarettes from the Allsup’s. Police found a sawed-off 20-gauge shotgun and a sawed-off .22 caliber bolt-action rifle while executing a search warrant on the vehicle.

Neither suspect has been identified. An investigation is ongoing.
