Christmas is in our rear-view mirrors and the pine needles are embedded in our carpets and rugs. It's National Take the Christmas Tree Down Day, so what better time to dispose of your live Christmas tree than now?

The City of Lubbock has two permanent Christmas tree drop-off centers open Monday - Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Citizens can drop their Christmas trees off at the roll-off located outside the gates at the 208 Municipal Drive and 1631 84th Street drop-off locations.

After January 13, residents can drop-off fresh-cut Christmas trees inside the gates Monday - Saturday from 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The most inconsiderate thing your can do with your Christmas tree is stuff it in the dumpster or in a garbage can. Take a few minutes and haul it to one of the recycling centers. Be good to your neighbors and our environment.
