MILFORD, Texas (AP) — Authorities say 13 people were hurt when two passenger buses were involved in a highway accident south of Dallas.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says traffic on northbound Interstate 35 had slowed for construction late Tuesday evening when one bus struck the rear of a tractor-trailer. A second passenger bus then was struck.

The wreck involved a Megabus with more than 35 people on board and an Americanos bus with nearly 50 passengers.

People in both buses were hurt, as was the driver of the tractor-trailer. The injured were taken to hospitals with injuries described by authorities as minor.

Remaining passengers later were gathered by other buses to continue to Dallas.

The crash, which occurred about 50 miles south of Dallas, shut down the highway until early Wednesday morning.
