Lubbock Fire Department firefighters and EMS crews are continuing rescue operations at the Lubbock Wastewater Treatment plant at 35th and Guava Avenue in East Lubbock.

Earlier this afternoon a group of workers became trapped in a well at least 20 feet deep.

KAMC 28's Nick Ochsner reports that four men were working in the well when the incident occurred. The four are employees of Archer Western, the contractor on site, for the work being conducted on the well.

Just before 5:30p, two of the workers were rescued, as the others remain trapped. One of the rescued workers was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
