A woman stabbed her husband in the neck early Monday morning (July 11) during a domestic dispute at a Lubbock hotel say police.

Field Services Bureau officers responding to a report of a domestic disturbance at the Value Place Hotel on South Loop 289 discovered a man with a stab wound to his neck outside.

Lee Trejo, 42, was taken to UMC with life-threatening injuries.

According to the Lubbock Police Department press release, officers followed a blood trail to Trejo's hotel room and discovered his common law wife, Kim Davenport Peterson, and learned that she had stabbed him.

The 44-year-old Peterson was arrested by officers from the Field Services Bureau.and charged with aggravated assault. She was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Facility.

Detectives from the Investigation Services Bureau were called to the scene
and continue to investigate.
