Wolfforth Shootings Declared Double Homicide, Memorial Fund Created
A shooting last week in Wolfforth has been ruled as a double homicide.
Officers from the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office and Wolfforth Police were called to the 9200 block of Dawson Street on Thursday, June 6th around 7:30 p.m.
Two men, 50-year-old Gilbert Del Toro and 59-year-old Joe Garcia were found dead after being shot with a shotgun.
The Lubbock County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that the shooting was a double homicide on Wednesday.
Authorities arrested 46-year-old Jerry Flores for the shooting. Flores has been charged with capital murder of multiple people and is being held in the Lubbock County Jail on $500,000 bond.
Flores has said that the two men were trying to kill him.
A memorial fund has been set up at Lubbock National Bank for Del Toro and Garcia under account number 17137063.
