Winter Weather School Announcements, Church Closings – Wednesday, March 4

Several schools in and around Lubbock are letting students out early Wednesday afternoon, while local churches are cancelling evening services.

Here's an updated list of early school closings and church service cancellations.

• Texas Tech University -- Closes at 4 p.m. All classes All classes scheduled to start at or after 4 p.m. are cancelled.
• Christ the King Cathedral -- all Wednesday evening events cancelled
• First Baptist Church in New Deal -- all Wednesday evening activities cancelled
• Faith First House of Hope -- all Wednesday services & activities canceled
• Focal Pointe Fellowship Church in Lubbock -- all Wednesday evening activities cancelled
• Hart ISD will dismiss at 1 p.m. Wednesday. No buses will run
• Indiana Avenue Baptist Church -- all Wednesday evening events & classes cancelled
• Lakeridge United Methodist Church -- all Wednesday evening events & classes cancelled
• Lockney ISD will dismiss at 1:30 p.m.
• Plainview Christian Academy will dismiss elementary students at 1:10 p.m. and junior/high school students at 1:15 p.m.
• Plainview ISD will dismiss 2 hours early on Wednesday due to snow
• Primeria Iglesia Bautista in Lubbock -- Wednesday night service and Bible study cancelled
• Silverston ISD will dismiss at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Buses will run on pavement only
• Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock -- all Wednesday evening activities cancelled
• St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lubbock -- all Wednesday evening services and classes cancelled
• St. John's United Methodist Church in Lubbock -- all Wednesday evening activities are canceled
• St. Luke’s Lubbock United Methodist Church -- all Wednesday evening events and classes are cancelled
• Turning Point Community Church in Lubbock, youth activities canceled Wednesday evening
• Wayland Baptist University (Lubbock Campus) - Evening classes cancelled Wednesday
