A winter storm has arrived on the South Plains. Icy road conditions will remain for at least the rest of the day, Tuesday, December 30, 2014, and throughout the night. Roadways and even parking lots are extremely slick, making driving difficult and dangerous.

Driving is strongly discouraged. Remember that even if you use a 4-wheel drive vehicle, the laws of physics still apply. All drivers need to slow down and think well ahead to avoid the need for a sudden stop. If possible avoid overpasses and bridges. If you must go out on the roads, remember to BUCKLE UP, regardless of the distance you need to travel!

Many local businesses and government offices are either closed or are closing early due to the ongoing inclement weather.
