The three shows that Willie Nelson recently canceled in Bakersfield, Calif., will not be rescheduled as originally planned.

Nelson was scheduled to perform at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace in Bakersfield from Feb. 6-8, but postponed the shows on Monday (Feb. 6), just hours before he was supposed to take the stage for the first of the concerts, citing an undisclosed illness. Those shows were originally intended to be rescheduled, but in an update on Wednesday (Feb. 8), Crystal Palace talent booker Jerry Hufford says that the dates have been canceled permanently.

Hufford sent the following email explaining the situation, but offered no further information as to the nature or severity of Nelson's illness, according to the Bakersfield Californian:

To all Willie Nelson ticket holders: Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to reschedule the three Willie Nelson shows at here at the Buck Owens' Crystal Palace.

All ticket holders will be receive a FULL refund. If you purchased your tickets with a credit card, the credit card used to purchase the tickets from The Crystal Palace or Vallitix will automatically be refunded within the next couple of days. You DO NOT need to return your tickets.

If you purchased your tickets with CASH at the Crystal Palace box office or at a Vallitix location, please go to the point of purchase with your tickets to receive a refund. Vallitix locations will begin refunds on Friday.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The 83-year-old country icon also canceled two of five shows scheduled to take place in Las Vegas in late January and early February due to a “bad cold,” according to Nelson’s publicist, Elaine Schock, and it was announced on Wednesday that he has canceled two shows originally planned for Feb. 10 and 11 in Arizona and New Mexico. It's unclear if that's the same illness that is causing his most recent cancellations.

Reached via email, Schock offered no further details regarding his illness, replying simply, "Willie resumes touring on Feb. 16 in San Antonio."
