The home opener against Sam Houston State on Saturday, September 5 will mark Texas Tech's 1,000th football game. And fans attending the game will find many new features at Jones AT&T Stadium.

"Our goal is to make sure that we continue to take every step we can to provide the very best game-day experience for all of our spectators," Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said. "Each year I continue to be amazed by the commitment and dedication of our passionate fan base."

There are a few physical changes, including the ticket office now being on the east side of Jones AT&T Stadium and 14,000 new seat backs.

The concourse and concession stands will be upgraded with 42-inch TVs and a new point of sales system so you can watch the game while waiting shorter times for your Chick-Fil-A. That's right, Chick-Fil-A has joined the menu inside the stadium. Other foods include a "Tech Mex Dog," several burger options, veggie pizza and new Dippin' Dots flavors.

Live music is making a comeback to the Raider Alley experience. There will also be appearances each game by the Masked Rider, Raider Red and the Texas Tech Cheer and Pom squads. Also, more Chick-fil-A and Fuddruckers to eat and drink.
