This morning I started noticing a trend on Facebook and Twitter. Some people were posting a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that was meant to make people feel bad about celebrating the death of Osama Bin Laden. The quote goes like this:

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy." - Martin Luther King, Jr

Perhaps you've seen this quote too today. I've seen it from well meaning friends and lefties that just can't bring themselves to celebrate America. The quote has a great meaning and who would disagree with MLK?

There is just one problem. He never said it. That's right folks, it's a fake quote that's being passed around Facebook and Twitter today. It goes to show how fast news can spread, even when it's fake.

The Atlantic has a good piece on the story. You should check it out and let me know what you think. By the way, good luck getting some of your liberal friends to believe the quote is fake.
