Last week, I spent a couple of days talking about the City Bank Auditorium. According to reports, unless work is done on the auditorium, Celebrity Attractions will not be back. Some of the complaints about the auditorium include seating, bathrooms, a failing heating and air conditioning system, & more.

In 2004, Lubbock voters approved around $4.5 million in bond money for renovations for the auditorium. However, in 2010 that money was used for other projects including renovations at the Civic Center.

Now the Lubbock City Council is looking at $8 million in renovations as part of a possible bond election. Some though would like to have the Lubbock voters hand over the property to Texas Tech and instead build a new performing arts center.
