On the show this morning we discussed an article from the Austin American-Statesman that reported on grades give out by the group Empower Texans. Empower Texans is a conservative group so the grades shouldn't really shock anyone. Here is how our local elected officials did:

Rep. Charles Perry- A+

Rep. Jim Landtroop- A+

Rep. John Frullo- B+

Senator Robert Duncan- F

How would you grade Texas lawmakers? We want to know the grade that you would give to the following elected officials: Rep. John Frullo, Rep. Charles Perry, Rep. Jim Landtroop, Senator Robert Duncan, Speaker Joe Straus, and Governor Rick Perry.

I will give out my full list later, but I will say that I disagree with the Empower Texans grades for two of our elected officials. In my opinion, John Frullo deserves at least a grade of A, but probably an A+. He did a good job in Austin and voted the right way. Frullo was able to be a statesman, gain power, gain respect from both sides of the aisle, and not have any gaffes.

Which leads me to Charles Perry. My grade on Perry, B+. I don't really have any issues with how Charles Perry voted. I think he stayed conservative and overall did a great job, but the gaffes were unbelievable. Perry voted against Straus after it was a done deal. He then made remarks against a fellow State Representative, and even seemed to criticize Governor Rick Perry for playing Presidential politics with the Special Session. Perry also seemed to stick by Duncan's side way too much. That is something he must avoid.

So what do you think? What grades would you give out?
