A West Texas Man has been sentenced to 2 years in federal prison for weapons smuggling.

The 47-year-old is the former owner of a law enforcement uniform shop.

In 2011 his business was raided and he was exposed for trafficking ammunition across the border into Mexico.

Wednesday, an El Paso judge that presided over his sentencing also ordered that he forfeit 8,600 round of ammunition and about a million dollars’ worth of military and law enforcement equipment.

The man had pled guilty in December as part of a plea deal.

Money laundering and illegally exporting ballistic vests charges were dropped as part of the deal.
