On the Thursday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Steven Orr from the “West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard” show talked with Chad Hasty about his picks for the big games in high school football this week.

It's the final week of regular season play for high school football across the area, and district playoffs are right around the corner. Orr said that right now, the playoff fate of a lot of teams are still up in the air, but there are a few teams that have already secured their place in the playoffs.

In District 4-4A, for example, Frenship has secured their playoff spot with an undefeated season. But for all the other teams in the district, Orr says it's still anyone's game. But he added that Plainview, Hereford and Monterrey all have the chance to make it to playoffs if they win their respective games. In District 2-3A, Cooper and Shallowater have both locked in their spot in the playoffs, despite Cooper's tough 35-7 loss to Shallowater last week. And in District 2-2A, Denver City is heading to the playoffs, with Idalou and Brownfield right behind them.

For Week 10, Orr said one game to keep an eye on will be Post vs. Abernathy. Orr said that both teams are undefeated in their district, and that this match-up will be the toughest challenge for both teams. Another game to watch will be Sundown vs. New Deal, and Orr said he is really interested to see if Sundown can slow down the so-far undefeated New Deal team.
