With only 2 weeks left in the regular season, it’s time to start looking forward to high school playoffs. In Region 5A, Abilene and Abilene Cooper are already locked into the playoffs. But in Region 4A, it’s still anyone’s game. Orr said one team to keep an eye on will be Lubbock High, and if they win this week’s game against Frenship, and next week’s game against Monterrey, it will be the first time Lubbock High has made the playoffs in 29 years.

In Region 3A, Shallowater has already clenched a playoff spot, but Orr said the games to watch will be Estacado vs. Andrews and Seminole vs. Levelland. In District 2A, Idalou will be heading to the playoffs.

If you can’t make it out to the Estacado game, you can listen to it live on KFYO starting at 7:15 PM. And be sure and tune in to the FAN every Friday night at 10 PM for the West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard show.
