On the Thursday edition of the Chad Hasty Show, Steven Orr from the “West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard” show talked with Chad Hasty about his picks for the big games in high school football this week.

Starting off tomorrow night, Amarillo Caprock will travel to Lubbock to take on the Monterrey Plainsmen. Orr said that Monterrey has been struggling this season, and that this is their last chance to gain some momentum before district play begins next week. However, Amarillo Caprock has gone undefeated so far in the season, so Monterrey will have their hands full. Another potentially tough game will be for Hereford as they host Lubbock Cooper this week. Orr said he is giving the advantage to Cooper in this match up, as Hereford has been struggling all season long.

For Week 4, Orr has several can't-miss games of the week. The first game is Estacado vs. Abilene-Wylie. He explained that Abilene-Wylie is a formidable team, although they haven't been quite as strong as they used to be. Estacado, however, has speed on their side, and Orr said he wants to see if Abilene-Wylie can keep up. Orr's other pick for Game of the Week is Idalou vs. Shallowater. he said that both teams have done well so far this season, and it should be interesting to see how Shallowater's tactic of constantly running the ball will stack up against Idalou's more balanced attack plan. Other games to check out this week include Coronado vs. Midland-Lee and Post vs. Denver City.
