On Friday's Chad Hasty Show Steven Orr from the West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard show joined the broadcast to discuss week eleven in West Texas high school football. Orr and Hasty talked about Coronado's district championship win last night, the region's important games tonight, other district standings, and the trend of too many teams making the playoffs.

Orr reviewed some of last week's games, and gave his choice for which games promise to be the best to watch tonight, including the Lubbock High and Monterey "Silver Spurs" match-up, as well as Crosbyton versus Lockney.

Hasty and Orr also discussed the trend of the large numbers of teams making the playoffs in the State of Texas, with many of those teams actually performing poorly. During that conversation Orr said,

The sad thing about it Chad, it's all about money. Because, then the games get played, the UIL gets a cut, and that's what it's all about, and it's not good football. When two-thirds of most of the districts in the state make the playoffs...what is the significance now, when a coach's resume says, "ten years consecutive in the playoffs.", it means nothing.
