Weather Conditions At 5 a.m. Not That Bad

My route takes me from the North Loop and I-27 (not too far from the airport) to the South Loop, then down Quaker to our studios at 4413 82nd (#300 so we can see out over the city). This morning, it was nice to see a lack of emergency vehicles on the roadway.

Please remember this is one person's experience at 5 a.m. At this time the roads were mostly clear.  I did not experience any slipping or sliding at all, but there looked to be a couple of spots where it was possible. With a temperature of 31 at 5 a.m., it apparently isn't cold enough to refreeze well traveled roads. 

But on my way in, the snow started coming down slightly heavier.

It's unlikely that these conditions will warrant any closings beyond the ones that are already posted below.

As for the rest of the day, the forecast calls for snow to be likely through the day with accumulations up to a half inch possible. We have already exceeded our expected high today of 30 at the previously mentioned 31.  Tomorrow, the Hub City is near back to normal with a high of 39.
