The wall of tumbleweeds stood seven feet high and went across two lanes of traffic.

KRQU News 13 reports that it's rare to see the tumbleweeds form so close to the metro area of town.

The report says 45 mph winds brought the tumbleweeds to town. Even though they are a nuisance, many residents are curious and have been taking photos and video.

A landscaping crew from the Air Force base spent the afternoon chasing the tumbleweeds and removing them from the road.

The crew had to use pitchforks to put the tumbleweeds into a garbage compactor to haul them away.
