UPDATED: Wal-Mart on Avenue Q Evacuated Earlier Today

The natural gas leak has been contained after the gas supply was shut off to the Wal-Mart. KAMC 28 reports that customers are now being allowed to return to the store.
With move-in week for Texas Tech, South Plains College and Lubbock Christian University fully underway, this particular Wal-Mart is expected to receive a large amount customers all week long.

About a half-hour ago, just after 11:30a, the Wal-Mart at 5th Street and Avenue Q was evacuated due to a natural gas leak.
KAMC 28 reports that the leak is being classified as "major". Apparently, a forklift punctured a a gas line within the store.
Wal-Mart operates four 24-hour locations within Lubbock, plus a Sam's Club on the Marsha Sharp Freeway. This location, located in Overton is the newest Wal-Mart within Lubbock.
