Ariel Walden, KFYO.com

On the Thursday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, John Osbourne of the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance and Visit Lubbock spoke with Chad Hasty about their newest tourism campaign.

National Travel and Tourism Week is May 3rd through May 11th this year, and Visit Lubbock is celebrating with their “Live Love Lubbock” contest. Osbourne explained that participants can pick up a heart-shaped frame from participating locations and use it to take a picture of what they love most about Lubbock. Participants must then post their pictures on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #LiveLoveLubbock.

Osbourne said that one of the best way to drum up tourism in Lubbock is to have Lubbockites invite friends and family to come visit them, and commented on the exponential growth of Lubbock in recent years, citing the growing music and cultural scene as an example. He added that, through this campaign, he hopes to showcase why so many Lubbockites love living in the Hub City.

For more information on the contest, including official rules, prizes, and locations to pick up frames, visit the contest website at livelovelubbock.org.
