On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Lubbock County Horticulture Extension Agent Vikram Baliga and Texas Tech's Joey Young talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about an upcoming turf care workshop.

The Turfgrass Field Day, sponsored in part by Texas A&M Agrilife Extension and TTU Department of Plant and Soil Science, will take place next week. The Field Day will cover various topics for both commercial and residential lawn care, such as wetting agents, plant growth regulators, landscaping, herbicide and more. Baliga said that this was not going to be a typical classroom-style workshop, and that all of these topics would be demonstrated hands-on in the field. A free lunch will also be provided by Danny's Hens & Fins.

The Turfgrass Field Day will take place Monday, July 21st from 8 AM to noon at the Texas Tech Quaker Research Farm, located several blocks north of 4th and Quaker. Registration opens at 7 AM and is free to the public. For more information about the event, visit the AgriLife Extension website at lubbock.agrilife.org.
