Vance Ginn Talks New Texas Legislature, Speaker Bonnen, More

On Tuesday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Vance Ginn, director of the Center for Economic Prosperity and senior economist at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, joined the program to discuss the opening of the 86th Texas Legislature.

Ginn and Hasty talked about some of the many issues that will be front and center in this session, as well as Representative Dennis Bonnen, who has been elected as the new speaker of the house.

Among the issues discussed were gaining control of and possibly lowering the rapidly rising property taxes in the state of Texas, as well as education and teacher pensions.

While answering Hasty's questions about Speaker Bonnen, Ginn said,

I'm cautiously optimistic...I think that there's a lot of key things that we're going to be able to work with him on that will help to improve the lives of Texans.
