Upgrades Complete at Ruidoso Downs Race Track Just Before Summer Season

Horse racing fans throughout the region into New Mexico can expect to see numerous upgrades to the Ruidoso Downs Race Track.

Some of the renovations and upgrades include grandstand improvements, parking lot improvements, extensive remodeling of the All American Turf Club, and the entire racing surface underwent a renovation before the track opened this spring.

The summer season begins on Friday, marking the first time racing will be conducted on a Friday through Monday at the track, which is located in the Sacramento Mountains of southern New Mexico.

Kicking off the season will be the daylong trials to the Grade 1, $500,000 Ruidoso Futurity.

Ruidoso Downs Race Track says that “The safety of the racehorse and jockeys is always a top priority at Ruidoso Downs,” prompting the racing surface renovations.
