An area grocery store chain will support breast cancer awareness month.

United Supermarkets announced Friday that they will have Pink Tuesdays in their stores during the month of October.

On Tuesdays during October, United will donate $1 for every guest wearing pink who makes a purchase of $10 or more, up to a maximum donation of $25,000 for the month.

In addition, shoppers can purchase pink reusable shopping bags for $2 each, and $1 from each sale will go to the cause as well.

“Each year, we team up with guests to raise awareness and funds to help fight breast cancer and work toward a cure,” said Shelby Crews, community relations manager for United Supermarkets, LLC.

“Breast cancer has affected every community we serve, and we are proud to take a stand this October to help educate and empower women and men to take charge of their own breast health,” Crews continued.

All 50 United Supermarket, Market Street, and Amigos locations will participate.
