Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Beto O'Rourke will be making another stop in Lubbock, and this time he'll be participating in a Lubbock tradition.

O'Rourke will be marching along with the Lubbock County Democratic Party during the 4th on Broadway parade. The Lubbock Democrats announced O'Rourke's upcoming appearance on Monday and started a Facebook event page to invite people to march with him and the local Democratic party.

Beto O'Rourke is running for the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican Senator Ted Cruz in the upcoming 2018 midterm elections. O'Rourke is currently the only Democrat running against Senator Cruz.

O'Rourke last traveled to Lubbock in April and is continuing to tour the state in hopes of increasing his name ID. According to the Texas Tribune, the latest UT/Texas Tribune poll showed that 55 percent of Texans had no opinion of O'Rourke.

While O'Rourke is campaigning and marching in Lubbock on July 4th, his opponent and current U.S. Senator Ted Cruz will be participating in the July 4th parade in McAllen, Texas.

According to The Monitor, Cruz will deliver remarks in McAllen that morning and ride in the parade.

Lubbock's 4th on Broadway parade begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4th.
