TXDOT: We want public opinion on Lubbock outer highway loop

Could an outer highway loop be in Lubbock’s traffic commuter’s future?

That’s what TxDOT engineers will discuss at a public meeting next week.

The discussion will focus on possible, long range plans for a Lubbock outer route.

The proposed roadway to be discussed is basically a half circle on Lubbock's far west side, at the current city limits of US 84, northwest of Lubbock, to US 84 southeast of the city. City officials have said the outer loop could be funded by a combination of local, state and federal funds.

The public meeting will be at 5:30pm, Tuesday, Feb. 4th at the Lubbock Cooper Performing Arts Center.
