TxDOT to Close Westbound Loop 289 University Ramp for Repairs

Repairs will force the closure of one entrance ramp and two lanes along stretch of Westbound Loop 289 next week.

TxDOT Crews will be closing the westbound Loop 289 entrance ramp just east of University Avenue and two lanes of traffic on Loop 289 beginning 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 21. The closure is necessary for TxDOT crews to safely conduct repairs to the University Avenue bridge.

TxDOT urges drivers to factor in extra travel time or to seek alternate routes through the area altogether. Motorists still using the area should expect delays.

According to TxDOT, weather permitting, the entrance and lanes are expected to reopen by the afternoon of Friday, July 25.
