Maintenance work will be carried out on South Loop 289 next week.

Westbound traffic from Avenue W to Quaker Avenue, and eastbound traffic from Avenue W to Slide Road along South Loop 289 will be affected.

TxDOT will perform the routine maintenance work, which is designed to extend the life of the roadway, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Monday, February 27th.

Work is expected to take several days to complete, and motorists can expect daily various main lane closures and some sporadic short-term entrance and exit ramp closures.

The preventative maintenance project encompasses several state roadways within Lubbock County, including Farm-to-Market 2255, U.S. 84, and the Brownfield Highway, at a cost of nearly $264,000.
