Thursday night (April 5), the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of two suspects after a high-speed chase traversed three counties.

According to the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office, multiple law enforcement officers were stationed near the intersection of 38th Street and Avenue P in Lubbock around 6:30 p.m. A traffic stop was attempted nearby, and that's when the driver fled the scene in his vehicle.

Law enforcement quickly scrambled and pursued the driver into other parts of the county before the chase moved into Lynn and Terry Counties. The chase ended when the driver, identified as 32-year-old Christopher Alexander, wrecked the SUV he was driving at the intersection of CR 705 and FM 211 in eastern Terry County.

A K-9 unit was used to apprehend Alexander after the SUV crashed. A passenger, 34-year-old Lindsey Ruffin, was also arrested by authorities.

Both Ruffin and Alexander were taken to UMC in Lubbock for treatment of minor injuries after the SUV they were riding in flipped onto its side.
