Lubbock Police arrested two men during the overnight hours on Wednesday after an attempted burglary of a residence in northwest Lubbock.

The incident occurred at a residence just before 3 a.m. in the 5900 block of 9th Street. According to Lubbock Police, one of the suspects knocked on the front door and asked about a dog. As the victim at the residence in question started to open the front door, she observed a second suspect behind the first holding a handgun. The woman immediately closed the door.

Then, a second victim pulled into the driveway and saw the suspects at the front door of the residence. She saw one was armed with a handgun and immediately began to back out of the driveway. The armed suspect pointed the gun at her and she stopped the vehicle. The suspect opened the car door and according to LPD, the victim gave the suspect a Vera Bradley bag. The suspect took the bag and both suspects fled the scene.

Responding officers arrived and located two suspects. After a short pursuit on foot, both were arrested and the Vera Bradley bag was recovered. Lubbock Police also believe a third suspect was involved in the crime, but has not been located.

• Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity

The suspects were also in possession of suspected stolen property that leads them to believe there may be other victims in their crime spree.
