Two Local swimmers have been named All-Americans by a national organization.

Lubbock High’s Madisyn Cox and Monterey’s Jaeecy Parham were named All-Americans by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) on Tuesday afternoon.

Madisyn Cox is a six time All-American in both the 200 IM and 100 breast stroke while Parham earned her first All-American designation in the 200 IM.

To be named a NISCA All-American, swimmers must swim faster than a NISCA time standard for a particular event.

The time standard is based upon a five-year average of the 150 best recorded times for a particular event.  Only the top 100 fastest times above the standard are named All-Americans.

2012 marks the sixth consecutive year for the Lubbock ISD swimming and diving program to produce All-American student athletes.
