The Tornado Watch issued earlier tonight has now expired.  A new line of thunderstorm is developing to the west of Lubbock.

AT 1045 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE
HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.  THESE STORMS WERE
LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 5 MILES SOUTHWEST OF WHITHARRAL
TO 7 MILES WEST OF SEAGRAVES...MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH.

  LEVELLAND...BROWNFIELD...TOKIO...WHITHARRAL...LOCKETVILLE...
  ANTON...UNION...OPDYKE WEST...WELLMAN...SMYER...MEADOW AND

A Tornado Watch is in effect for the eastern counties of the South Plains until 10pm tonight.  Some of the counties included are: Briscoe, Floyd, Crosby, Garza, Scurry & Kent. The watch area does not include Lubbock County.

As of 7:15pm, the dry-line has moved the cities of Lubbock and Tahoka and is continuing to spark new thunderstorms across the region.

STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR SOUTHLAND...OR 11 MILES SOUTHEAST OF SLATON...
MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH.  THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING A
73 MPH WIND GUST WEST OF POST AT 650 PM.
