Toddler Dies After Being Backed Over in Parking Lot Thanksgiving Night

A three-year-old child is dead after being hit by a truck.
The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot near the 8900 block of University Avenue.
Carlos Gonzales had managed to run away from his mother in the parking lot, and ran behind a truck as it was backing out of a parking space, according to Lubbock police.
Gonzales was pinned underneath the truck, and was freed by Lubbock fire fighters. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died about 10:30 p.m.
No charges have been filed in the incident.
