Three Men Arrested for Exploitation of the Elderly

Three men have been arrested in Amarillo in connection to an exploitation of the elderly case here in Lubbock. 55-year-old Benjamin Franklin Smith, 33-year-old Clemmie Levester Smith and 23-year-old Benjamin Franklin Smith Jr. were arrested yesterday afternoon at their home in Amarillo after stealing several thousand dollars from an elderly Lubbock woman.

The woman says they came to her house and after trimming her trees for a few hundred dollars, demanded another several thousand. They are believed to have pulled similar stunts in Midland and Amarillo. They are each being held in the Potter County Jail on $15,000 bond apiece.
