A Friday night rollover resulted in the deaths of three people near West 19th Street and Alcove.

Twenty-nine year-old Jesse Maldonado was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee westbound in the 7900 block of 19th Street at around 8:40 p.m. Friday.

According to Lubbock Police, Maldonado struck a large dog and veered into the eastbound lanes of traffic.

Thirty-three year-old Gary Green, who was heading east, struck Maldonado’s Jeep on the passenger side.

The back driver’s side passenger was thrown from the Jeep.

Jesse Maldonado, 27-year-old Erica Ysasaga, and three-year-old Jocelyn Maldonado were pronounced dead at the scene. A seven-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital. Three of the four people in the SUV were not wearing their seat belts.

Green was transported to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.
