A fight that broke out in north Lubbock over the weekend lands three people in jail.

Lubbock police were called to the area of North University Avenue and Colgate Street around 2:45 Saturday morning due to a brawl.

Officers heard gunshots shortly after arriving at the scene, and found 20-year-old Michael Flores on the ground. Flores was not wounded from a bullet, but had been assaulted by three men and suffered minor injuries.

Other shots were fired by the suspects who then fled the scene, but they did not hit anyone. Police arrested the three suspects a short time later.

19-year-old Isreal Ocon has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, organized crime, evading arrest, and public intoxication of a minor.

19 year-old Mario Medrano is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, organized crime, and violating park curfew. No word yet on charges for 18-year-old Abel Lopez, the third suspect.

Flores was taken to an area hospital, and was released shortly afterward.
