A Lubbock man who fled the scene of a hit and run accident that left a Lubbock teen wheelchair bound plead guilty to several charges Tuesday in court.

29-year-old Christopher Thomas plead guilty to Aggravated Assault, Failure to Stop and Render Aid and Drunken Driving. Thomas was driving drunk last January when he hit Ashton Cerka as the then 19-year-old was crossing 19th street in the Depot District. Cerka has been left in a wheelchair from injuries sustained during the accident, and faced several years of therapy before he can walk again.

Thomas was sentenced to 12 years in prison. He must serve at least half of that sentence before he's eligible for parole.
